The Accounting team partners across the business to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of our financial reporting. We play a critical role in capturing and recording company activity in real time, while maintaining strong controls and high standards, and providing financial insights to inform strategic decisions. Beyond compliance, we enable innovation by building scalable processes that support growth and evolving business models.
About the role
As the Senior Manager, Head of Revenue Accounting, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to deeply understand our business. You will integrate yourself across product and partnerships teams to build deep knowledge of our platform and products, and be the subject matter expert on revenue accounting, providing the business with revenue recognition and accounting operationalization guidance to support new business initiatives. You’ll be a cornerstone in building out improvements to our financial data pipeline and driving efficiency in our internal processes through use of AI and other tools, and will have the opportunity to lead and develop a small high-performing team while making a personal impact at a high growth Company.
What you’ll do
Be responsible for the month-end revenue accounting close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other reporting requirements to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
Develop strong relationships with key business partners from Product, Engineering, Partnerships, Sales, Legal and be proactive in identifying revenue implications as new initiatives are pursued. Help identify implications relevant for other finance teams, including tax
Develop expert-level understanding of revenue-related data within our BigQuery database, building and utilizing SQL queries for accounting, reporting and reconciliation purposes
Partner cross-functionally with our Data and Product teams to troubleshoot and improve data utility in service of our accounting processes; participate in data/platform change-management activities to ensure accounting impacts are properly identified
Participate in developing and maintaining strong public company-ready internal controls, ensuring quality controls over all transactions and reporting
Drive process improvements and scalable solutions as they relate to the overall Order to Cash process. Focus on utilization of AI to reimagine our workflows
Lead accounting contract review and contribute to technical accounting research activities as well as other ad-hoc projects
In order to be successful, you must bring
9+ years of relevant experience, preferably including public accounting firm and publicly traded company experience. Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue accounting practice
Experience leading teams, and preferably distributed and international teams
Proficient knowledge of SQL for querying financial data
Strong operational accounting experience and driving process improvements, and preferably with a passion for AI and experience with Netsuite
Strong understanding of internal controls, and SOX requirements
Passion for cross functional collaboration, and partnering with non-accountants
Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Expected salary ranges
For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $178,500 - $231,000
For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $160,700 - $207,900
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $152,200 - $196,900
