Pair Eyewear is looking for an Engineering Manager to support our frontend technology. You will own our headless Shopify site, and help deliver a fast and accessible experience to customers. You will manage two pods (Purchase and Repeat) which help drive new customer and returning customer growth respectively. This role reports to the VP of Engineering and will involve close collaboration with Engineering peers, Digital Product, Data, and Design.

This is a remote-friendly position, with a hybrid option available for those in the NYC Metropolitan area.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the frontend engineering pods to deliver impactful customer experiences while defining and executing the technology strategy.
  • Foster a culture of clean, scalable, and efficient code by setting best practices and actively contributing to code reviews and development when necessary.
  • Continuously improve the development lifecycle by refining scoping, development, and QA processes to ensure rapid, high-quality delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners in Digital Product, Design, Analytics, and key stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals.

  • Forward-thinking, staying in touch with emerging technologies and industry trends, ensuring the team leverages tools and technology thoughtfully and efficiently.
  • Meticulous with strong attention to detail, you passionately advocate for testing, ensuring robust, reliable features.

Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, primarily building scalable React apps.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, either managing engineers or as a tech lead.
  • Experience working within a headless Shopify environment.
  • Experience working with Shopify apps and integrations like Klaviyo, Heap, and Elevar.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Next.js and Vercel.
  • Experience with Contentful or other CMS tools.
  • Experience with AB testing tools, like Growthbook.
  • Experience working with subscriptions and loyalty systems, like Prive and Yotpo.

At Pair, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $180,000 - $210,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
