A dishwasher ensures a hygienic kitchen by cleaning, sanitizing, and storing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans, while maintaining a clean dish pit and taking out trash. Key duties include operating industrial dishwashers, assisting with food prep, and supporting kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning & Sanitizing: Washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools by hand or using an automatic dishwasher.
  • Organization: Sorting, stacking, and storing clean dishes, glassware, and equipment in designated areas.
  • Sanitation & Safety: Sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning work areas, and washing trash cans to maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Kitchen Support: Assisting with, or emptying, trash receptacles and breaking down boxes.
  • Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining the dish machine, including changing water/detergents.
  • Support Duties: Assisting with food prep, such as peeling vegetables or washing produce, if requested.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
  • Efficiency: Ability to work fast and stay calm in a high-pressure environment.
  • Hygiene Standards: Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation protocols.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with others, including chefs and servers.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant is preferred, but not required.
