As a Front of House (FOH) Team Member, you will be one of the first and most important touchpoints for our guests—whether they’re walking in for lunch, picking up an online order, or asking about our famous sauces. You will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences through warm, efficient service, order accuracy, and maintaining a clean, welcoming space. From taking orders and answering questions to preparing beverages and assisting with expo during rushes, you help make Sophie’s a fast, friendly, and delicious destination.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Order Management
- Greet every guest warmly and with a smile—whether they’re dining in, picking up, or ordering at the counter.
- Take guest orders accurately and efficiently using our POS system; help guide guests through the menu when needed.
- Prepare beverages and plate orders according to standard presentation and portioning guidelines.
- Confirm that all orders (dine-in, takeout, pickup) are complete and correctly assembled before handing off.
- Assist delivery drivers and phone/digital team by coordinating smooth order handoffs.
Cleanliness & Front-of-House Organization
- Keep all FOH areas clean, stocked, and organized—including counters, dining area, beverage stations, and condiment areas.
- Wipe down surfaces and tables regularly; empty trash bins and restock napkins, utensils, and takeout packaging.
- Monitor dine-in guests to ensure they have what they need and assist with table clearing and resets as needed.
- Participate in daily FOH checklists and side work responsibilities as assigned by the GM or Shift Leader.
Team Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff, delivery leads, and shift leaders to ensure smooth service and accurate orders.
- Alert management immediately to guest complaints, service delays, or POS issues.
- Support your teammates across FOH and BOH when needed—whether prepping sauces, restocking supplies, or helping during a rush.
- Uphold all Sophie’s hospitality standards through positive energy, professionalism, and a guest-first mindset.
Qualifications & Skills
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a guest-facing role, preferably in food service, retail, or hospitality
- Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—friendly, respectful, and professional
- Ability to stay calm and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Accurate and efficient at handling orders, payments, and product knowledge
- Basic math and POS skills for handling cash and credit transactions
- Attention to cleanliness, food handling, and appearance standards
- Willingness to learn and take feedback—positive attitude is key
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and at least 18 years old
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed
Work Environment & Shift Structure
This position is fully on-site at one of our high-volume NYC locations. You’ll work on your feet in a fast-moving environment, especially during lunch and dinner rushes. Teamwork, composure, and a sense of urgency are critical. FOH Team Members rotate between register, beverage station, dining room support, and expo duties as needed throughout the shift.
Shifts may include morning prep, mid-day peak, or evening closeout responsibilities. Weekend and holiday availability is required based on store traffic and staffing needs.
