What You Will Do:
- Stay aware of department inventories and orders product and supplies so as to meet customer requirements and the company's gross profit goals.
- Help implement localized merchandising plan for the department, set up and create displays for new and seasonal items.
- Ensure accurate and timely ordering to prevent losses that result from grocery item spoils before it can be sold.
- Assist with Grocery employee training, and assist in enforcing Grocery guidelines and safety procedures amongst team.
- Make suggestions to improve operations and efficiencies, by reducing losses due to shrinkage and pilferage.
- Keep updated on special grocery needs that arise for holidays, as well as trends in consumer goods that affect consumer demand.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints; lead by example.
- Follow established departmental procedures for receiving merchandise including inspecting the product when delivered, pricing the product and restocking cases to insure freshness and quality, accuracy and product rotation.
- Maintain an effective housekeeping program.
- Other related duties as assigned by Manager and Store Director.
What You Will Bring:
- Previous grocery clerk or stocking experience highly preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to consistently lift 35 - 50 lbs, unaided.
