About the Role
The Porter / Dishwasher plays a crucial role in supporting the culinary and hospitality team by maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the kitchen and dish areas. This position helps ensure that our operations run smoothly behind the scenes so that exceptional service can be delivered to every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, cookware, glassware, and utensils.
- Keep dish and prep areas clean, safe, and organized throughout the shift.
- Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine to restaurant standards.
- Remove trash and recycling, and break down boxes in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Restock and organize kitchen equipment and tools as needed.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining equipment, floors, storage areas, and walk-ins.
- Follow all health department guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Support the culinary and service team as needed with additional tasks.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a porter or dishwasher role preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
